''Nina Pandolfo'''
'''Nina Pandolfo'''Born in São Paulo in 1977, Nina Pandolfo is one of Brazil's most prominent and influential graffiti artists. She is now internationally celebrated as an emerging contemporary fine artist.

''' Life and career'''

Nina started drawing and painting when she was just three years old. With the encouragement of her mother, she continued to develop her skills until she reached a level of proficiency. At the age of 12, Nina took to the streets and started tagging the walls. Her talent was soon recognized by other Brazilian artists, and she later became part of the group that would transform the art scene by moving graffiti from the streets to galleries and museums. Using plastic, latex, and resin, Nina makes use of a wide variety of materials. Her work features themes that draw from childhood and nature. She is known for painting female subjects with wide-eyed, childish features in mysterious and captivating environments. The glassy, questioning eyes of the characters stare out of the canvases and lure us into their world. When viewing her work, an immediate sense of wonder and escapism is felt, along with the qualities of our adult introspection. Her mission is to remind us that we can take a moment to pause from the stress of modern life and remind ourselves of the simplicity and beauty of our childhood days

Nina's most recent work, "Little Things for Life," is featured on the Rivington Street Mural located in the Lower East Side in New York City. Her debut solo exhibition is featured across the street at Coburn Projects Lower East Side gallery. This new body of work is inspired by the lightness and beauty of simplicity, along with the refined perception of small details one experiences in everyday life. "It is about the little details, little things that sometimes go unnoticed in our life, although it is often in these small details where we find and recognize the joy, peace, or even a moment of purity." Pandolfo seeks to counter the stress of modern life and our constant information flow. She reminds us that "We often forget how beautiful it is to lie in the grass and look up to notice the moving shapes of a treetop. During childhood, these things make us wonder and transform the day in a special way, but later on, we often disregard or leave them aside."

'''Past Work'''

One of Nina's most famous projects includes her partnership with famed Brazilian artists "Os Gemes" and "Nunca". In 2007, the three joined forces to paint the facade and current of an 800-year-old castle in Fairlie, North Ayrshire, Scotland. The work is now a permanent feature of this historic building.
